“DVMA and Mr. Danny are absolutely amazing! I have a 6 year old daughter with CP. I never thought it would be possible for her to do martial arts due to the fact that she has right sided weakness. She does not walk “normally”, she has limited use of her right hand and arm, and she has a difficult time getting her body to move in new ways. A regular martial arts program would never work for her. She would not be able to keep up with the speed and requirements of the class. Like every parent, I never want to set my child up for failure. The Little Warriors class is absolutely perfect. Danny meets your child where they are and works with them at their individual speed. He is fun, energetic, and encouraging, while teaching them self-discipline, self-control, respect, confidence, and martial arts. He celebrates the victories no matter how big or small they may seem. During one class my daughter was able to jump, and actually get both feet off the ground for the first time ever. He celebrated with her and was as excited as I was as her mom. From that point on I knew we were in the right place. DVMA is special, it is not just another gym, they have become family. “Mr. Danny is the best! He is not only a top notch Martial Arts instructor, but is a mentor to all of his students. He ends every lesson with the kids in a huddle talking about the issues and challenges that are important to them (peer pressure, academics, etc.) while interweaving the most important tenants of Martial Arts : respect for yourself, your family, and your community. Mr. Danny is devoted to his students and truly walks the walk. When my third grade son advanced to the school spelling bee, Mr. Danny went out of his way to be there to cheer him on. It meant so much to Luke for Mr. Danny to see him win second place in the school after all of his hard work! Mr. Danny will truly feel like part of your family, and I can't think of a more positive role model. As a parent, I am grateful that my son has such a strong, upstanding, moral man to look up to. “Mr. Danny is a top-notch Martial Arts instructor. We’ve known him for 7 years now, since 2015, when my son started training. He had been invited to a birthday party and left there wanting to sign up. Danny is such a great instructor that shortly after my wife and I signed up. I had earned a 2nd Degree Decided Black Belt in Taekwondo as a teenager. I learned more ground defense in the 1st week than all the years I was in Taekwondo. My wife had not previously practice any Martial Arts. Regardless of your knowledge, experience or fitness level, Danny meets you where you’re at to help you improve in all areas. Years later, my wife and I earned our Black Belts, followed soon after by our son. Now our daughter is training and loving it. This experience is more like joining a family than a gym. Danny is a true Martial Artist, meaning he is not out to nickel-and-dime people. Many schools out there create arbitrary requirements to make an extra buck. Not Danny. He just wants to help you meet and exceed your goals. He makes the classes fun and challenging by mixing elements of cross fit, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Karate/Taekwondo and some weapons training. There are many Martial Arts schools out there, but you won’t find any better instructor than Danny Vergara. We highly recommend this school.”
